Christmas 2020

Christmas was a lot different this year. We had no family gatherings and no Christmas parties. I was supposed to work on Christmas but ended up getting cancelled so that was such a nice surprise for the kids. We spent the day at home with a visit from Grandpa and Grandma K. Grandpa and Grandma Roedema dropped their presents off and Zoomed meeting us to see kids open their gifts.

Florida 2020

We had a surprise Florida trip planned for the kids prior to getting COVID. We were a little worried how the timing would work out but God worked out all the details. We were in isolation till December 16 and our flight left on the 17th. We came home on Christmas Eve. We had a great break from the same routine and also loved the sun! We stayed at a Drury Inn in Fort Meyers and went on many adventures from there. The kids loved the Everglades and the pool the best. The worst part of the trip was probably the flight back with lots of turbulence! Luke was so scared and said he would never fly again and Levi threw up. We went from 80 degrees to 24 degrees in one day but we were glad to be back home!

COVID 2020

We all had been home for quite some time as I tested positive for COVID on November 25. Ryan ended up having symptoms and thankfully none of the kids got sick. We were in isolation and quarintine for 24 days. The kids had to be home from school while Ryan and I were sick. I had my birthday and Thanksgiving masked up and not feeling well in my room.

Thanksgiving 2020. Grandma Roedema made us food and dropped off on the porch for us.

Puzzles and school back to virtual while at home. Junie got lots of attention!

Maci Braces

Maci got her braces on! She was so brave and had her band colors picked out before she went in.  Her mouth was a little sore but nothing a Sandy's donut could not fix and off to school she went to show her friends!

Fall 2020

Kids still like to pick pumpkins!

Ryan and Levi helped Grandpa Roedema shingle his shed.

A fall family picture.

We took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge over fall break.  Ryan found a trail to hike on the way home.
Bowman's Lake. Caleb was the most excited because he had never been to Great Wolf Lodge.  COVID cleaning and distancing in place made it different than in years past.

American Girl Surprise

We have been attempting to be as normal as we can this fall. However, its not the same as falls in the past. No sports for us, no Wednesday night church activities. It leaves some space in the calendar and that has been okay. We had a Chicago girls trip planned to American Girl this past spring, we cancelled this trip too. This past weekend Grandma had the girls over for a Fall Tea, little did the girls know that they were getting an American Girl doll that day. It was a fun morning. They were so surprised!

Maci and her doll Blaire. They have the same hair color.

Fall Camping at Dune Harbor

A beautiful weekend to spend outside. We took the kids out of school on Friday and headed up on Thursday afternoon. We usually go to Pioneer Park this weekend but all their Halloween Activities were cancelled. It was 70's and sunny, warm enough even to go swimming.
It was a great escape from all the happenings here at home.
