Spring Break 2023

We loaded up big blue and took a major road trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We actually stayed in the town of Fort Morgan, AL a little bit out of all the major hub bub. We had to put a plug in Big Blue's tire before we left and we broke up the trip by staying in Goodlettsville, TN the first night with the threat of storms and tornados we were glad to stop. We had a long day of driving on Saturday and finally arrived after some traffic jams around 7 pm on Saturday night to the Plantation Resort. We had warm weather 70-80's each day and some clouds. The pool was a bit cold but kids warmed up in the hot tub. Levi actually had too warm of a time in the hot tub one morning and ended up passing out and throwing up. We had one day with a purple flag on the ocean which meant sea life was spotted. The kids were worried it was a shark but it was actually a lot of jelly fish. We took a couple of day/morning trips too. We went to the actual Fort Morgan, Dauphine Island on the car ferry and to the small aquarium.  We drove one afternoon to Gulf Shores to look for souvenirs and Ryan ran into teacher from West Side within in minutes of being in the store. We also went to the Super Mario movie one night which was a highlight. Caleb had been waiting for months for this movie to come out. We also went to the Bon Secour nature center and went on a short hike to an overlook. We had a lot of fun and then broke up the drive home by staying in Louisville in a Drury Inn which is our favorite hotel.  We still were able to be home for Easter with the Roedema side too. It was a fun week!
